I love snow. Everything about snow. From how when there is a storm your house feels like it's under a blanket to work being cancelled! I even kind of like shoveling, just cause you can make nice clean lines and when you are done there is big piles of snow to look at. I also always take doggie for a walk in the snow. It's so quiet and peaceful and beautiful. I especially like when only a few cars have driven on the road and the snow on the road looks like cookie dough.
SNOW!

Goal Ball!!!

Go team! My brother is going to Montreal this weekend to play in a Goalball tournament! He's has very little sight, an estimate is around 2%. Goalball is awesome and should be more known. Pass it along. Sighted people can play also as everyone wears eye covers to block all sight!

Habit.

I have a morning habit of laying on the couch with doggie while waiting for my husband to be ready for work. I like this time it's peaceful.

But my most favorite habit, which I try to break but I can't is to have a bath after swimming. I've had showers at the pool, only to have to come home and have a bath. It winds me down and warms me up!

Here's the walls of the bathtub! I could draw the pattern blindfolded!

Place - somewhat loosely using the word place

This is me...at the end of running 21.1km at the Bluenose Marathon this past May. This was a very happy place for me. The smile looks forced...it is as my whole body was tired, even smiling seemed like too much at the time, but I was sure smiling on the inside!

I started training in October 2007, having never ran before I had a big hill to climb. I ran three times a week, only missing one time from October till the bluenose in May of 2008. I think that's impressive on it's own. I ran a 5km on NYE, 10km in Ottawa in March that my friend flew from Calgary to cheer me on! And then the Half marathon in May! I can't say I love running, but I love that I accomplished something like that...! My true love is swimming and water polo!

Home Sweet Home

For the home day of Comfort week, I chose the loveseat. We just purchased this new piece of furniture in December! It adds so much more seating, and provides a nice place to curl up on a Sunday for some girlie movies and knitting. I try to set aside some time Sunday afternoon for knitting or napping, I need this to face the week!!

Shelby likes the loveseat, but does prefer the couch! Chloe cat loves the loveseat, however you know how kitties are...never willing to help you on a photoshoot.

Comfort Week - Day one

I am participating in Comfort week hosted by: Frenchy's Finds
Day one is food!

This may seem simple however there's a story why pistachios are my comfort food. I have a nut allergy to all nuts but peanuts and pistachios. A while back I got refered to get some allergy testing to confirm the severity of the allergy, the appointment at the time was 18 months away! Pistachios hadn't bothered me before so I kept with them. They are comforting cause I know I can grab'em for recess at work or if I am on the run!

Here's my second favorite nut!
ps....I don't understand how to place pictures....I really don't.

Some Knitting...

Today I started some deer mittens for my friend. She provided me with a picture of some that she saw in an airport. I am making them like this as well as using the pattern for gator mitts. These are in progress...

So far this year I've knit 3 hats, two that are seen in the picture are for my husband, and one for a baby that as born on FRIDAY! Also I have knit 2 pairs of baby mitts, 2 pairs of adult mitts, and one adult mitt, and one deer mitt(to be assembled)! I feel this is excellent progress so far. I get about 25 mins of knitting time after working waiting for my husband. I would get 45 but I have to walk and get the car. It's part of our deal, he drops me off in the morning, parks the car, walks to work. I walk to get the car, drive down to get him, knit and then he drives home! Yeah for sneaked in knitting time!

It snowed here, and is still snowing. Hope there is a snow day tomorrow!

Bloglife and camera.

I am not very good at bringing my camera along with me to places or events.

But here's some oldies to introduce the animals. Shelby-dog and Chloe-cat.

They work together to steal food, wrappers, open backpacks to get food. They will rule the roost soon.

Cold Day

Plan for this very cold day! Take the doggie for a walk (she'll wear her boots and coat, she likes the coat hates the boots) Then wind some yarn to make deer mittens loosely based on the gator mitts from Stitch 'n Bitch book, then coach some water polo!

Busy day!

I'll post some pics of the Shelby-dog with her attire on.

Happy Weekend!
